Sketching is easy

Maybe because of the lack of time pressure and also because sketching is the form of art that I have the most reps with all my life. It’s also much easier to add light & shadow effects using just pressure instead of color mixing, which is fundamentally easier and can be done instantly while you’re shading with the pencil or color pencil.

Here’s a sketch of the Dursleys / Harry Potter’s residence – 4 Privet Drive. It’s the same window from which Harry escaped in the Weasley’s flying car.

Ink makes your drawing pop naturally and you can use just ink as well as in my sketch of St. Petersburg below.

Or sometimes, you can just use the pencil to shade and let it be. A sketch of my friend’s cat – Kiki – below.

That’s all I wanted to say in this post. Watercolor is hard, sketching is easy. Do what you can do often to keep your skills.

Good night folks!
